The Full Story

I began my professional journey in 2000 and have since worked on a number of solo and collaborative projects. I take pride in the work that I do and in the long-term relationships that I’ve built with my clients. I am a firm believer in working hard, working together, and having fun along the way! PROJECT 1

FORM

Project One's objective was to explore the creation of forms. The material used was sugar cubes to create simplistic forms such as, triangles, squares, pyramids, cylinders, and cubes. The goal was to create these forms and illustrate the concepts of additive and subtractive  and mass and void. Through these concepts the forms were to portray various relationships including spatial tension, edge-to-edge contact, face-to-face contact, and interlocking.

PROJECT 2

SPACE & VOLUME

Project Two's objective was to create volumes and spaces using wooden dowels of different heights and widths. The goal was to create the following spatial relationships: space within a space, space abutting a space and interlocking spaces while incorporating project one's concept of form using basic shapes.

PROJECT 3

ENCLOSURE

Project Three's objective was to create planes using white and black foam core board. The goal was to utilize the foam core boards of varied sizes and arranged L-shape, U-shape, parallel, horizontal, and vertical planes. The earlier concepts of form and space and volume were included further advancing my knowledge of spaces.

PROJECT 4

CIRCULATION

Project four's concept was based on circulation. The assignment was to design a conceptual site and building plan of a fictional yacht club. The concepts within circulation to demonstrate were approach, entrance, configuration of path, path-space relationship, and form of circulation path. My approach of the building is linear specifically, curve-linear. The entrance of the building is flushed. The site's configuration of path is radial using trees to enhance this concept. The path-space relationships used within the building are pass-by, pass-through, and terminating. Finally, the forms of the circulation path within the building are enclosed, open on one side, and open on both sides.

PROJECT 5

ORDERING PRINCIPLES

Project Five was a conceptual site of a fictional residential design of a house, studio, and garage. The concepts to represent within the building site were hierarchy and datum. Using Revit and Adobe Indesign software I constructed three buildings where the house broke hierarchy by shape. The three large trees in the center of the site plan represented datum by plane. In addition, all four earlier concepts were added: form, space and volume, enclosure, and circulation. The trees portrayed different form concepts, mass and void, and spatial relationships whereas the house, studio, and garage represented enclosure concepts and zones.
